Travelers Championship History: Bubba Watson's Big Win (2010)

June 07, 2019 - 3:21 pm

Look back nine years and revisit Bubba Watson's first title win at the Travelers Chmapionship in 2010, another great moment in Tournament history.

Bubba Watson came to the 2010 Travelers thinking as much about his ailing father battling cancer as his golf game. Bubba started the final round six shots behind third round leader Justin Rose, but shot a four under 66 to tie him with Cory pavin and Scott Verplank to force a play off. Then on the second extra hole, Watson drained a three foot par putt for the first win of his career.

With the great history on the golf course comes the great history off the course, as we celebrate the over $40 million that the tournament has generated for our local community since 1952-- like Ray Of Light Farm, a non-profit animal sanctuary and animal assisted learning center dedicated to helping people make a positive connection with life through animals. The Ray Of Light Farm serves as a safe haven for many animals, providing medical care, nutritious food, and training. These animals are then adopted or go on to serve humanity as therapy animals.
